Our tax preparers and office staff are all unpaid volunteers, most of whom are retired but enjoy working with people and have good numeric and client service skills.
As the use of software tax preparation programs has increased in the last few years, our staff members have enhanced their computer skills to meet this new reality, however, we continue to prepare returns manually as necessary. We usually need at least two or three new volunteers each year who have these computer skills or who may wish to work as a receptionist. If you can help, please contact us by telephone or by email.
A one day tax training session, conducted by CRA, is held in early February to review any changes which may have been introduced for the previous tax year. As a new volunteer, you would be asked to work a one half day shift per week and assigned a shift which fits your schedule. An experienced tax preparer would also be on duty to act as a mentor, if needed.
